National Student Fashion Competition
The Student Fashion Competitition was launched in July 2009 as a national competition to find and award the very best young fashion designers for their talents in designing for the more mature woman.
The competition is open to all fashion students, who are asked to design a quality five piece collection for a woman over 45 to buy either online or mail order, and to produce a marketing strategy and plan for their collection.
It offers a fantastic opportunity for the UK’s fashion students to compete to experience their chosen industry at first hand. Past winners gained paid internships and subsequent employment by a commercial design studio, and the opportunity to join a 6-week academically accredited ‘Masterclass’ run by the David Nieper Fashion Academy to gain valuable commercial experience within a real-life workplace..
“We are an ambitious company looking for enterprising and creative people," says Christopher Nieper, "More than that, we are keen to see fashion manufacturing return to the UK and the East Midlands in particular. The standard of entries has shown us just how much raw talent awaits us."
