Traditional Skills in Every StitchFebruary 2018 Style Advice
Here at David Nieper, we take pride in making our collections from first sketch to final stitch at our fashion house in Derbyshire; we also like to work with local companies who like us make in Britain, using the finest materials.
This season our design team has been working with neighbouring Cluny Lace, a family run business that has been producing lace since the 1800s. The Cluny Lace company combines the best of old Leavers lace making traditions with new technology to produce a wide range of exquisite designs.
The intricate lace patterns perfectly complement our fine woven nightwear, adding that extra special finishing touch to our nightdresses.
Leavers lace trim
The cutaway lace trim on our aqua green, woven cotton sleeveless nightie is supremely soft and beautiful. The lace enhances the light weight, cotton voile fabric and is expertly cut allowing easy movement all night long. The beautiful Leavers lace has been delicately sewn to several of our designs in this collection, adding interest around the cuffs of our long sleeve nightie, and to create pretty design detail on our shorter length, cap sleeved design. And, for a little more coverage our Wonderland Blue cotton nightdress is beautifully edged with dainty lace around the décolletage and finished with a streamer bow.Shop nightdresses
Owned and managed by the eighth and ninth generations of the Mason family, Cluny prides itself on the quality of their beautiful traditional Leavers lace. Many of the lace patterns still used today were designed by Frank Maltby Mason and Francis Bowler Mason, the sixth and seventh generations of the family.
